I first became acquainted with Mike Morrison nearly two decades ago when we began our law enforcement careers. I was blessed to work with Mike at the same agency during a time that we were both gaining experience and learning to work the streets. Mike has moved on, but I remain at the same agency and have promoted into supervision, and professional standards.

I’ve watched a lot of officers come and go from my agency over the years, and they all seem to do well wherever they go. That said, Mike stands out from all the officers. I can say without hesitation that Mike is the finest law enforcer I’ve known in my career. When at my agency, I watched Mike outperform everyone month after month in quality and quantity of work. I don’t have access to Chelan County data, but I seriously doubt there are many deputies who possess Mike’s capabilities.

Not only does Mike perform, but he keeps up to date on current Law Enforcement trends, and legal issues. Things are changing so fast right now. Sometimes multiple times in the same year, and it’s very difficult to keep up. Mike is on speed dial on both my personal and professional phones, and he is my primary resource when I have an urgent question. By the time I think of it, I know Mike’s already researched the answer

I don’t know the issues the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office is facing right now, but I do know the issues that Washington State Law Enforcement is facing. We must adapt to all these changes and find ways to remain effective. I’m already witnessing how agencies with strong leadership are finding a path forward, while those with less quality leadership are struggling to adjust. Leadership is almost always the reason when an organization struggles and is almost always the answer for improvement. We don’t need paper leaders with fancy paper qualifications, we need leaders with substance. Mike has been a leader since the start of his career even when he was at the bottom of the list of seniority.

Chelan County is truly blessed to have Mike as a deputy, I know if elected Sheriff, Mike will take the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office to the next level. Mike Morrison is a man of substance, and he is the right man for Chelan County Sheriff.
