Endorsement for Mike Morrison for Chelan Co. Sheriff
August 29, 2022
I first met Mike Morrison in June 2006 when he became an officer with the Omak police department and I was an emergency room physician at Mid Valley Hospital in Omak. I had many interactions with Mike over the next several years until he left our area in March 2014.
I was fortunate enough to get to know Mike both on a personal and professional level. I saw him frequently in the ER when he would bring in suspects for “medical clearance“ and also got to know him as a personal friend, initially through going to the same church. We also worked together for a short period of time on the Okanogan County SRT team where he was an officer and I was a reserve officer and team medic.
Early on some of the characteristics that I initially appreciated in Mike were his friendliness even to strangers, his positive attitude and his caring and compassionate nature. This last attribute was particularly impressive to see in a police officer who can so easily become hardened and calloused from constant exposure to and contact with many of the “less than upstanding“ members of our community.
Over the years that I had the good fortune to get to know Mike better, I became increasingly impressed by his integrity, his honesty and his sense of fair play. I am proud to call myself a friend and colleague of Mike and actually even believe that I am a better person today as a result of my friendship with him. I wholeheartedly and without reservation endorse his candidacy for Chelan County Sheriff.
